2012 Clancy "Unsung Hero" Award
KELSO
a 8 year-old Rottweiler - German Shephard cross, is a recipient of the 2012 Clancy 'Unsung Hero' Award.
Kelso is much loved by her BFF,
Tamara Neadow.
Kelso is Tamara Neadow’s BFF.

Not every 14-year-old girl is willing to take on the responsibility of a dog with Rottweiler blood in it, especially after noting that it had been returned to the SPCA three times in its young 18 months old life. There had to be a reason, but Tamara sensed something very special in Kelso and at the end of the summer 2004, the two were an item.

Teen years can be quite troublesome for some young people and when it comes to sharing their problems in confidence, a faithful and loving canine companion can become your BFF, or Best Friend Forever.  Kelso had a fear of people and as such made him difficult to place in a forever home.  But with Tamara’s nurturing, the two formed a happy and healthy relationship and learned of unconditional love from each other with a safe harbour to go to.

Last fall 8 year-old Kelso was diagnosed with cancer and a new path has now been forged for the BFFs – an agreement to live each moment for each other. (NOTE: Kelso sadly passed away the first week of July 2012).
